2 ways to clear search history in Google Play Store

Method 1

This is what you can call as the direct method. This method shall involve the clearing of search history in play store via play store.

  1. Open Google Play Store
  2. Bring up the side menu either by sliding from the left edge of the screen or pressing the sandwiched lines at top left.
  3. Tap on “Settings”
  4. Under the general section of settings, choose the option “Clear local search history”. You will be prompted for a confirmation, agree.
  5. All done. Open Play Store app and tap on search bar just for personal satisfaction.

This was easy and wouldn’t have required more than a few seconds!

Method 2

Some people like complicacy. There’s no need to jump into a second method but sometimes you need a complicated method to showcase you know so much about your device. So, for those readers, here is the second and long cut way.

  1. Open Settings app – either by tapping on settings from app drawer or by dropping the notification panel.
  2. Scroll down until you see the Application Manager also known as Apps.
  3. Click on All Apps and find Google Play Store and then click on it.
  4. Now, if you are on Android 5.1.1 or below you will see the option “clear data”. Go ahead and hit on it. If you are on 6.0 or above, click on storage to see the “clear data “option.
  5. Agree with prompt
  6. All done

Like I said, this isn’t a recommended method but some people prefer complicated things.
